- Former department store executive with Carter Hawley Hale Stores, Inc., acquired by Federated Department Stores, Inc., where he served 8 years in a variety of merchandising, store operations, and information services management positions.
- Graduate of Harvard Business School with Distinction, where he won the 1980 Retail Prize.
