Welcome to the new ARTS website

Welcome to the new ARTS site. We have a new look AND new functionality. We hope you'll tour around and let us know how you think we can further improve the site during its beta stage. There are enhancements on the public facing site like:

Quick links for all the ARTS Standards
If you are looking for FAQs about the Data Model, want to contact the chair of the ARTS XML Committee, or need more information about Conformance, the quick links box in each of the ARTS Standards pages will give you easy access.

The most exciting changes have happened behind the door of Member's Only Collaboration. This new tool has forums, calendars, and contact functionality available only to members of ARTS. There are also areas for committees to collaborate on projects together. Highlights from the Collaboration area include:

Committee/Group Collaboration areas
Committees and groups have their own places for more focused collaboration. These group areas offer places to share files, start forum discussions, and even create a wikibook to work on projects together.

The ability to send a message to another member
Members can send messages to each other and in turn, members can set up their preferences to determine how they would like to be contacted. Do you want to come back to the site regularly to see if you have messages? You can do that. Do you want to be notified via email as soon as you have a message? You can do that too.

You decide how much contact you want
You can further customize your notifications based on the group that they are coming from. If you are extremely active in the Data Model Committee, you might want instantaneous messaging. If you are a more casual information gathering, all forum discussions, events, and changes can be compiled for you in a daily or weekly notification.

Save paper - make a digital scratch pad note
The members-only collaboration area includes a scratch pad. Take and save personal notes as you explore and work in this area. You might even use the scracth page to write a reminder to tell us what you think.

And don't worry, if you need to access the old "legacy" ARTS website, we'll keep that available for you too.
