ARTS Business Process Modeling

The Business Process Models subcommittee describes the business processes commonly used to operate in retail. At the highest level, Level 0, the Retail Reference Model provides a collection of domain areas and capabilities to describe the retail enterprise as a whole. The Retail Reference Model is divided into 5 domains

  • planning
  • buying
  • selling
  • moving
  • planning products and services

From there they are subdivided into lower levels starting with Level 1. Level 1, Business Domain Models, is a grouping of all the business processes for a given business domain defined in Level 0. Level 2, Logical Business Process, takes each of the groups identified in Level 1 and provides a representation of the logical part of these end-to-end business processes. Level 3, the Physical Business Processes, represents the activities and tasks that are executed by an actor and system to complete a process defined in Level 2.
